Pet Cremations

As 5th generation funeral directors in Ashtabula County for over 170 years, we have seen many customs and received many special requests as we have assisted families with the loss of a loved one.

In some cases, we find that the loss of an animal companion is as traumatic as the loss of any other member of a family.

As many of you know, we have been assisting families in the area who, when experiencing the loss of a pet, prefer cremation. We work with a family who has lost a pet just as we would any other family who has lost a loved one, with sensitivity, care and compassion.

Ducro Services has a crematory exclusively for pets, the FIRST pet crematory in Ashtabula County. Ducro Pet Loss Crematory offers several advantages that traditional animal crematories cannot.

We will  come to your family  home and bring your beloved pet into our care if needed or  we will go your veterinarians office.  We can return your pet to your family or hold them to be picked-up, whichever best meets the family's needs. If needed ,we  will return your much loved pet to your family within  48 hours ,if possible.

Ducro Pet Loss offers a wide selection of personalized urns to hold you pet's remains, as well as lovely keepsakes to be treasured by the entire family. Every  pet family receives a helpful brochure on  loss and bereavement.  Our staff is experienced in discussing the impact and grief process with a family who has lost a treasured member of the family.

  The cremation of your pet occurs privately on our premises in our own crematory and the family may be present to witness if desired and unlike any other pet crematory your pet is cremated  individually. We at Ducro Pet Crematory understand that we have been entrusted with your much loved pet and will show them the dignity and respect that is deserved for their faithful devotion to your family.

Ducro Pet Loss Services offers several advantages that other facilities do not. We work with a family who has lost a pet just as we would any other family who has lost a loved one with the compassion and respect they deserve. We also offer a comfortable viewing room to give families time to spend with their pet.

Office manager and Pet Loss Specialist, Sandra Reed, oversees pet cremation services and related personalized merchandise options.

Ducro Pet Loss Services hosted its first annual Blessing of the Pets and Pet Memorial Service in September 2017 and it will become an annual tradition.

 Saturday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

*We offer 24 hour service, 7 days a week.  For pet services after normal office hours, a $75.00 after hours fee will apply.

*Removal from local vet  during business hours at no additional charge
