Obituary of Alec M. Westlake

Alec M. Westlake Alec Michael Westlake, 23, of Fayetteville, North Carolina and formerly of Ashtabula, passed away unexpectedly at home, January 5, 2018. He was born September 16, 1994 in Ashtabula, the son of Charles and Peggy (Bodecker) Westlake. Alec graduated from Lakeside High School Class of 2013, and then moved to North Carolina about two years ago. Alec was a talented artist who could put his imagination into art and create a unique piece, and his way with words really shined through his poetry. He has some of his Art displayed at the Cleveland airport and at local coffee shops. Alec served as a youth leader in his church group and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Most of all he loved his fur babies Tara and Fang, who were like his children, and were treated like royalty. Alec is survived by his parents, Chuck and Peggy; and grandmas, Mary Boedecker and Chris Westlake; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leroy Bodecker and Clayton and Patricia Westlake; as well as uncles, Gary and David, and aunt, Elaine. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 6pm at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, with Re. Samara Jenkins of the Plymouth United Methodist Church, officiating. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4PM until the time of service at 6PM. Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made in his name in care of the funeral home.
