Lena R. Murphy
LAKELAND, FLORIDA Lena R. (Gaskell) Murphy, 85, formerly of Ashtabula died Tuesday, October 29, 2002 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 18, 1917 in Andover, the daughter of Benjamin Jay and Emma Irene (Varner) Gaskell and had been a Florida resident for the past 24 years.
An accomplished seamstress, she was a member of the Church of Christ in Ashtabula and Lakeland, Florida and enjoyed flowers, gardening and crocheting.
Her survivors include one son, Walter Gee of Ashtabula; two daughters, MariLynn Gee of Ashtabula, and LaVerne Sue Good of Blue Mountain, Mississippi; 12 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Sherman L. Gee; her second husband, Paul W. Murphy; three grandchildren, Kenneth Campbell, Rick Blair, and Walter Good, Jr.; two brothers, Homer and Milton Gaskell; one sister, Margaret Kimball; and her parents.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday November 19, 2002 at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula. Minister Terry B. Siverd of the Cortland Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery.
No calling hours will be observed.
