Irene M. Brooks
JEFFERSON Irene Marie Brooks, 87, formerly of Homewood Avenue, Ashtabula died Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Jefferson Health Care Center.
She was born August 12, 1923, the daughter of Emery and Rena (Bliss) Hackathorn and had been a lifelong Ashtabula resident.
She retired from the Ashtabula County Department of Human Services where she was employed as a case worker. She was a member of the 55 Plus Club, the Ashtabula Y, and belonged to the First Christian Church.
A Red Cross volunteer for many years, she enjoyed traveling and had visited extensively throughout the world.
Her survivors include two sons, John of Grayson, KY and Glen of Linesville, PA; and seven grandchildren; and one sister, Bernice Pebbles of Ashtabula.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Roy; three sisters, Amelia Kate, Elise Hudson, and Phyllis Powell; three brothers, Gilbert, Edward, and Richard; and her parents.
At Mrs. Brooks request, no services will be held at this time.
