Harry M. Sleigh, Jr.
ASHTABULA Harry Marshall Sleigh, Jr., 70, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 at his home.
He was born May 14, 1946 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of Harry Sleigh, Sr. and Helen (Houser) Sleigh. His parents were economic refugees from central Pennsylvania, seeking a better life in the industrial area of western New York. After Helens death, the family then moved to Conneaut, and settled in this area. Harry is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Vietnam era.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as an industrial electrician for Cristal Global and previously for RMI.
He enjoyed tinkering in his workshop, building and repairing things, and visiting with friends.
Harry is survived by his wife of 31 years, Cyndy (Wilson) Sleigh, whom he married October 27, 1985; one brother, Norris Sleigh of Conneaut; one sister, Kathryn Fowler of Saybrook Twp.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, George Sleigh, and his beloved dog, Chevy.
To all those who knew him, Harry says thank you for the part you played in his life over the years.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula.
