Betty A. Janson JEFFERSON- Betty Ann Janson, 68, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at her home. The daughter of Eugene and Jeanie (Ganczar) Bourdeau, Betty was born on August 17, 1949 in Ashtabula. She was a graduate of Harbor High School and the Cleveland School of Nursing. Betty was a licensed Practical Nurse for many years and was employed at Madison Health Care and Austinburg Rehabilitation. A wonderful caregiver, Betty was encouraging and giving of herself to her residents and to their families. Betty was fondly known as “Mama J” by her children and their many friends. Her home was a haven for everyone; she did not judge, she loved. She was a wonderful cook and loved cooking for a full house; it gave her great joy to see her home filled with friends and laughter. She had a wonderful collection of light houses; whether sitting on the back deck or watching out the window Betty was an avid bird watcher; if she was not watching birds she would watch game shows and the Hallmark Channel. Betty will be remembered as a loving sister, mom, grandma, and aunt. Although Betty was limited in her mobility her cheerfulness and willingness to help others was remarkable. Betty is survived by her children; Wendy Rossetti of Middlefield, Jennifer Housel of Washington Court House, Jason (Ashley) Janson of Florence, SC, Jeffrey (Danielle) Janson also of Washing ton Court House, Joseph (Sarah Perkins) of Jefferson and Justin Janson of Bainbridge; seventeen loving grandchildren; two precious great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; siblings, Jodi Gustafson of LasVegas, NV and Susan Bourdeau Phelps of Bedford; several nieces and nephews; her longtime friend, Brenda Cochran. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; her brothers, Harry “Butch” “Hank” Bourdeau and Brian Bourdeau. Calling hours will be held from 3PM until 7PMon Friday December 1, 2017 at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio Celebration of Betty’s Life will be at 11AM on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio. Kathleen Shaffer, CFSP officiating. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery, Ashtabula, Ohio. If desired, contributions in Betty’s name may be made to the family.
