Alleen L. Kiser JEFFERSON ? Alleen Louise Kiser, 78, of East Beech Street died Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. She was born May 23, 1932 in Chardon, the daughter of Kenneth E. and Alleen (Labar) Rhoades and had lived eight years in Arizona, but most of her life in Dorset. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a press operator for Chardon Rubber and had also worked for Holiday Inn as a cook. An avid CBer known to many as ?Minnie Pearl? and former Girl Scout leader, she enjoyed baking pies for everyone. She also enjoyed snowmobiling, wearing floppy hats, and collecting teddy bears. Her survivors include her daughter, Judy (Jack) Penn of Jefferson; two granddaughters, Heidi (Leonard Goff) Price and Amy (Frank) Price; four great-grandchildren, Cody Lowe, Makayla Tasker, and Kimberly and Ashley Price; two brothers, Richard Rhoades of Ashtabula and Leon Smith of Ellensville, NY; and her step-brother, Keith Rhoades of Andover. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Kiser; one daughter, Denise Kiser; and her parents. A Celebration of Life service will be held 2 PM on Monday, July 19, 2010 at the Zaback-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula. Kathleen Shaffer will serve as celebrant. Burial will be in Dorset Cemetery. A calling hour will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 19, 2010 from 1 PM until the time of service. Contributions may be made to the family.
