NAPLES, FL -  Charles Edward Perkins, 65, formerly of Ashtabula died December 28, 2017 at Vita Hospice.

 

            He was born July 28, 1952 in Conneaut, the son of John M. and Gladys (Pierce) Perkins and had been a longtime Ashtabula resident before moving to Florida.

 

            A graduate of Ashtabula High School, he worked 28 years for Springwood Products and part-time for almost 10 years at Publix in Florida, retiring in 2009.

 

            He enjoyed going to church and the movies.

 

            He is survived by his wife, Lydia (Bradley) Perkins, whom he married on September 9, 1994; three sons, Brian, Thomas, and Robert; one granddaughter; siblings, Marlene Shaffer, Myrtle (Richard) Welker, Evelyn Beeman, James (Anna) Perkins, Rebecca Jeffreys, Gerald “Jerry” Perkins  and Thomas (Nicole) Perkins, all of Ashtabula, William (Cheryl) Perkins of Geneva, and Cynthia Keyes of Conneaut; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

            He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Timothy, John Jr., Ronald, and Robert Perkins; a sister, Lucille Mracek; and a stillborn sibling.

 

            A memorial service will be held in Naples, Florida at the First Baptist Church on Orange Blossom on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
