Obituary of David Paul Johnson

David P. Johnson GENEVA - David Paul Johnson, 86, a child of God went home on Monday, March 5, 2018. The son of Swan and Ruth (Haldean)Johnson, David was born on June 1, 1931 in Wesleyville. PA. David and his family moved to Ashtabula when he was young. He was a 1950 Harbor Mariner graduate, where he played on the basketball team. David was Lutheran by faith. David was the owner of Johnson's Janitorial Services and worked in the Ashtabula area for forty two years before retiring. David was meticulous in his work and his many clients appreciated his dedication to his craft. David had an unshakeable faith in Cleveland sports teams and on occasion he would be surprised at how well they did. A family man, David enjoyed watching his family grow and prosper. Their successes made him content. He had a soft spot for animals and enjoyed the company of his cats, Orrin, Nathan, and Lacey. His beloved dog Haley; who was his constant companion, was always a part of his heart. David is survived by his son, Brad(Tami) Johnson , Carol (Bill) Lovas, both of Ashtabula, Diane (Jeff) Booth of MO, Mark Arcaro also of Ashtabula; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Sylvia and brother, Axel; many loving nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his wife of forty seven years Annaliese Johnson; siblings, Marion, John, Herbert, Elinor, and Alice; and his parents. Funeral Services will be held at 7:00PM on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Propsect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio. Rev. Dr. Michael Meranda, officiating. Private burial services will be at Ridgeview Cemetery. Calling hours will be observed from 5:00PM to 7:00PM on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at the funeral home.
