Obituary of Thomas Young

Thomas P. Young MEADVILLE - Thomas Patrick Young, 41, died on Friday, March 9th 2018 due to medical complications at the Meadville Medical Center. Tom was born March 17, 1976 at Ashtabula General Hospital. The youngest son of Thomas Wayne and the late Delores (Hofka) Young, of Pierpont, Ohio After graduating from Edgewood High School in 1994, Tom attended Triangle Tech in Erie, Pa. Earning an Associate's Degree in Specialized Technology with applications in Maintenance Electricity and Construction. Tom worked in the Boiler Maker Union Local #744, for five years and prior to that; he was employed with ESAB and H&S Springs in Jefferson. A man of many skills and hobbies; Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood working, and spending time with his family at their camp in Canada. Skiing with his daughters, restoring his antique Ford truck; he also enjoyed bowling. He , Cathleen , Emily, and Joslyn enjoyed bowling together as a family. Tom was a member of Monday night Conneaut Savings Bank Classic Bowling League at El Camp Lanes in Conneaut Ohio; Wednesday Nighters Men's League, and Sundays NFL Mixed Couples League at Lakeside Lanes in Conneaut Lake, Pa. Tom has numerous bowling achievements including winning El Camps House Championship Tournament, Ashtabula county singles, He has thrown twenty one 300 games, his most recent on February 26th, and five 800 series with a high of 854. Tom enjoyed bowling so much he learned how to drill balls and has a personal shop at his residence where he drills, resurfaces and repairs balls for friends and family. Tom will be remembered as a consummate family man. He loved and adored his wife Cathleen and his daughters, Emily and Joslyn. He was their world and they were his. He will be remembered for his courage and strength during his illness, his willingness to continue his life as he waited for his transplant. Tom is survived by his wife of fifteen years Cathleen (Bean) Young; his daughters, Emily and Joslyn; his brothers, Raymond Young and David Young and his wife Amy, both of Pierpont; his nieces Rylee and Hannah Young; nephew, Zach Strack; his father, Thomas Young; mother-in-law Darlene Bean and a countless number of friends and family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Delores Young; paternal grandparents Alex and Arlene Young, and maternal grandparents Stanley and Mary Hofka. Funeral Services will be held at 7PM on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 1071 State Route #7 North Pierpont, Ohio.
