ASHTABULA – David Jay Giddings, 56, died Saturday, March 24, 2018 at ACMC. The son of Stanley and Annette (Koski) Giddings, David was born on August 19, 1961 in Ashtabula and had been a lifelong resident. He graduated from Happy Hearts in 1979 and had worked at Ashcraft Industries ever since. He loved it there and felt all his friends, co-workers, and advisors were just like family. David bowled in the Ashcraft Bowling League weekly at ABC Lanes. He also enjoyed swimming in his younger years. He loved watching DVD's and especially enjoyed the Rocky movies. In the nice weather, he could often be found sitting on his swing, watching the lake and garden, and listening to music. He always waved as people drove by on Lake Road. David enjoyed music and was big fan of Elvis and Donnie and Marie Osmond. He also listened to classic country and other sounds of the 70's. He was quite savvy on the computer and would often find old reruns of his favorite soap opera "Guiding Light" and watch them. He was very social and loved picnics, parties, and get-togethers which made his favorite holiday his birthday! He was great at planning every event and made sure it would have his favorites: apple pie, chocolate cake, and dad's peanut butter fudge. David touched many lives and will never be forgotten by his family and many friends. He is survived by his parents, Stan and Annette Giddings; his sister, Erin Giddings; his uncle and Godfather, David Koski; his Godmother, Sally Branch; his beloved dog, Maxie; and many dear cousins and beloved family friends. A calling hour will be from 10-11 AM with a service to follow at 11 AM on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 933 Michigan Avenue, Ashtabula. Rev. Dr. Michael Meranda, Pastor of Messiah Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Saybrook Cemetery. If desired, contributions may be made to Ashcraft Industries, 5959 Green Road, Ashtabula, OH 44004.
