James P. McCloskey
CONNEAUT – James Paul McCloskey, III, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at U.H. Conneaut.
James was born on January 30, 1943 in Clairton, PA and is the son of James P. and Charlotte (Trasp) McCloskey, Jr.
On November 9, 1963 Jim and Cynthia Reydak were united in marriage. This was the beginning of a wonderful relationship filled with love and joy. Each step of the way, memories were created to be cherished and shared.
Jim worked for Union Carbide which became ESAB; after ESAB closed, he worked for University Hospitals first in Geneva and then he transferred to Conneaut where worked for ten years. Jim did not go to work; he went to be with friends whom he considered family.
Jim was a voracious reader; from Sci-Fi books to government and history, Jim tried to read them all. His vast knowledge of history and the government made him a very interesting man to speak with. He enjoyed talking with friends working on his computer, playing video games and taking on an occasional wood working project. He cheered for his Pittsburgh sports teams, no matter how they were doing. Jim was very fond of Cindi's ability to cook, he would brag to anyone what a wonderful cook she was. His K-9 companion, Bailie was never far from his side.
Jim was a great conversationalist; he could keep you entertained for hours. A man with a great sense of humor he would tease his friends and family; that is how you knew he liked you by the amount of teasing you would receive.
Jim will be remembered for his work ethic, his strength and dignity through adversity and his love of family and friends.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of fifty four years, Cynthia (Reydak) McCloskey of Kingsville; his children, Kelly (Allison Childers) McCloskey also of Kingsville, James (Cindy) McCloskey, IV of Florida, Sean (Sara) McCloskey of New York, and Timothy (Julie) McCloskey of Pennsylvania; ten grandchildren, Amber, Ryan, James, V, Mikaela, Alyssa, Tiernan, Timothy, Paige, Peyton, and Teagan; three great-grandchildren, Kaden, Khloe, and Kaileah; his sister, Joanne (Rosemary Hogan) McCloskey; and loving nieces and nephews;
Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas McCloskey and his parents.
