Obituary of Janice Marie Dyer

Janice M. Dyer ASHTABULA – Janice Marie Dyer, 48, died Friday, April 6, 2018 at Cleveland Clinic. She was born January 21, 1970 in Ashtabula, the daughter of Valgene P. and Shirley (McGee) Dyer and had been a lifelong Ashtabula resident. A 1988 graduate of Ashtabula High School, she worked the past 8 years as a home health aide for New Avenues to Independence. JJ had a passion for cooking. She loved feeding the neighborhood and was well-known and appreciated for her special lasagna and homemade pizza and subs. Her life revolved around her family. She supported her children at every opportunity and was always there to lend a hand, provide a smile, or pick someone up when they were down. She enjoyed watching the CAVS, Fox8 News, her favorite soap operas Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful, and any show with Steve Harvey. Her survivors include her mother, Shirley Dyer of Ashtabula; three children, Antonio Parker-Dyer, DeJuan Jones, and Jennifer Jones, all of Ashtabula; her life-partner of 26 years, Nathaniel Jones, Jr.; one brother, Craig Dyer; three sisters, Valerie Dyer, DeeDee Dyer, and Darlene Dyer, all of Ashtabula; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. She was preceded in death by her father; one sister, Jennifer Dyer; one brother, Calvin G. Dyer; and her nephews, Devere and DeAuntre Dyer. Calling hours will be held from 10AM – 12 Noon with a service 12 Noon Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Peoples Missionary Baptist Church, 3837 West Avenue, Ashtabula. Rev. Dr. German Womack, Jr., Pastor will officiate.
