Edith E. Butcher

 

GENEVA- Edith Elzada Butcher, 89, passed peacefully on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at UH Geneva.

 

Edith is the daughter of Howard W. and Lavina (Bailes) Strader and was born on November 12, 1928 in Nettie, West Virginia.

 

Edith and Kermit Butcher were united in marriage in June 1946 and remained constant companions and devoted friends until his death in November 1993.

 

Edith was a member of First Assembly of God for many years and remained active until her stroke left her unable to attend.

 

Edith loved to be outdoors and her favorite places were her vegetable and flower gardens.  She was very artistic and enjoyed sharing her work with her family and friends.

 

Edith will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her dignity and courage and her outlook on life.

 

Edith is survived be her children, Linda Kuhn, Kermit(Donna) Butcher, Barbara Rich, and Betty Broadstreet all of Ashtabula; fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

 

Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit H. Butcher; siblings, Telvie Strader, Harold Strader, Myrtle Spriggs, and Gracie McCoy; and her parents.

 

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Saybrook Cemetery, Saybrook, Ohio.

 

If desired, contributions may be made to the family.
