Obituary of Delores Jordan

Delores Marie Jordan ASHTABULA- Delores Marie Jordan, 88, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the Ashtabula County Medical Center after a short illness. The daughter of Andrew J. and Julia (Jager) Gluvna, Delores was born on November 26, 1929 in Ashtabula and was a graduate of Ashtabula High School. She was a member of Eastside Presbyterian Church. On October 2, 1950 Delores and Harry Jordan were united in marriage. Their fifty-five year journey of love and devotion was filled with many cherished memories. Delores was employed with Hills Department Store for many years. She never considered it a job; she enjoyed being with her co-workers. The "Hills Girls" remained close and enjoyed each other's company after the store closed. Delores was a woman of many talents and interests; she was a wonderful seamstress making many of her daughter's clothes. She enjoyed refinishing and upholstering furniture and going to garage sales and flea markets with her family and friends. An avid gardener, Delores was blessed with a green thumb and loved being surrounded by the beauty of her gardens. Delores and Harry traveled all forty- eight states of the United States and took short trips with their friends in the motor home. They would spend winters in Florida soaking up the sunshine and enjoying each other's company. Delores will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, her tireless devotion to her friends and family and her dignity, grace and strength through adversity. Delores is survived by her daughter, Janice (Gerald) Hurst of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Michael A. (Erica) Dragon of Columbus; Todd (Sara) Hurst of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; Craig (Amy) Hurst of Manzanita, Oregon; great-grandchildren; Jordan and Mica Dragon and Sienna and Finley Hurst; siblings, Arden James Gluvna of Mentor; Thomas Gluvna of Scottsdale, Arizona and John (Gale) Gluvna of Madison; loving nieces and nephews. Delores was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry Jordan on May 1, 2005; her sons, Ronald W. and Alan H. Jordan; siblings, Ann (John) Beno; Andrew J.(Jeannette ) Gluvna; sister-in-law, Gloria Gluvna; and her parents. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery, Ashtabula, Ohio. Calling hours will be observed from 5:00PM until 7:00PM on Friday, May 4, 2018 at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula. An additional hour will be observed on Saturday May, 5, 2018 from 10:00AM until time of Services at 11:00AM.
