Martha V. “Marty” Sobien

ANDOVER, OH- Martha Virginia “Marty” Sobien, 86, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018. Marty’s beloved children surrounded her in love as she left this life to begin anew.

Marty was born on March, 26, 1932, in Pittsburgh, PA.  At the age of eighteen Marty began her lifelong career in retail and retired at age 75 as a tailor at Syms.

Marty enjoyed her retirement years in Holiday Camplands in Pymatuning, Ohio, sharing her time between gardening, bingo and socializing with family and friends.  Marty enjoyed life and the people who made it so very special

Marty is survived by her children Cathy (Denzil) Straight, of Andover, Debra (Robert) Besterman of Pittsburgh, PA and Edward Sobien, Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Shannon Parish, Denzil Straight, Kevin Besterman and Diane Palko; and eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at St. Peter Parish, North Side, 720 Arch Street, Pittsburgh, Pa.
