Obituary of Carol A. Manyo

Carol Ann Manyo, 77, of Ashtabula passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, June 11, 2018. She was born September 22, 1940 in Ashtabula, the daughter of the late Miklos and Mary (Stofko) Manyo. Carol graduated from the second class of St. John's High School in 1958. For many years, she worked as the Secretary of the Superintendent at the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company (CEI) before retiring in 1993. Carol was a faithful member of Our Lady of Peace, St. Joseph Parish for many years. She enjoyed nature and crossword puzzles. She was known as the family historian, always keeping track of the family history and important events. She always remembered birthdays, anniversaries, and special dates. She was the communicator of the family and enjoyed being active in family functions and spending time with her many nieces and nephews. She is survived by her siblings, Joseph (Peggy, deceased) Manyo, and Charlotte (Ray, deceased) Fasula of Florida, and Betty (Judge Ronald, deceased) Varckette and Margaret Manyo, both of Ashtabula; sister-in-law, Beverly Manyo; cousin, Mary and Norman Seibold; dear friend and neighbor, Pat and Russ Litton; as well as over 100 nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her brothers, Nicholas (Phyllis), John (Dorothy), Ernest and Emry (Marilyn) Manyo; sister, Mary (Rex) Knerr; nieces, Linda Varckette- Joslin and Cynthia Knerr-Atwell; and nephews, Dennis and Michael Manyo, Jeffrey Fasula, and Robert Knerr. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 7PM at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula, with Rev. Fr. David Bridling, officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6Pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Ashtabula.
