Georgia L. Lloyd

ASHTABULA - Georgia Lenora “Jo” Lloyd, 89, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.

Born on April 9, 1929 in Mineral Springs, Ohio, Georgia was the daughter of George W. and Faith (Alexander) Robinson.

Georgia was a member of the Methodist Church of Geneva for many years.

Georgia had a varied work history the last job being at W.S. Tyler as a parts processor.

Georgia held memberships in: Saybrook Grange, North American hunting Club, Jewel’s Social Club, VFW and Eagles Auxiliaries.

As a child she was taught to hunt and fish by her dad and she truly enjoyed those times with him. She encouraged her nieces and nephews to hunt and fish also. She raised championship Beagles and won many awards for their ability to perform in field trial competitions she enjoyed bowling on many leagues and won many trophies and awards.

Georgia is survived by her son, Ronald V. (Pam) Lloyd of Geneva, lifelong friend and her “farm son” Ronald J. “Butchie” (Ginger) Belding of Geneva who is her son’s namesake; brother, George”Bill” (Shirley) Robinson of Jacksonville, NC: and various other extended family.

Georgia was preceded in death by her former husband, Donal V. Lloyd; sister, Winona Sabo; her parents and her wonderful pets, Freckles and Scrappy.

Thank you to the wonderful staff of Saybrook Landing for your care and understanding. We know what a challenge it could be to get Aunt Georgia to do something she did not want to do! But, she taught everyone new ways to get things done; Her Way! She loved you for your sense of humor and thoughtfulness and she felt at home thanks to you.

A very special thanks to Sue DeAngelis and her  family and all those who helped Georgia on a regular basis, including  bringing her goodies; filling her birdfeeders; taking her for a ride on a beautiful day to have lunch. Also taking her to Dr.’s  appointments, going shopping, running errands, getting her hair done and bringing her beloved Scuppy to visit. She loved you all. She appreciated your love and friendship more than you will ever know. Thank you!

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio. Private Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Jefferson, Ohio.

Calling hours will be held from 11:30AM to 1:00PM on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Ducro Funeral home, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio.
