Obituary of Elsie E Vendely

Elsie E. Vendely, 91, of Jefferson passed away peacefully, July 10, 2018 at Rae-Ann Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Geneva.

She was born March 31, 1927 in Cleveland, the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Kalchert) Sikorski and had resided in the area since 1963.

Elsie married the love of her life Stephen Vendely on July 9, 1945. Elsie worked at Schultz Mechanical Wire in Austinburg and also at Smith and Wesson.

Elsie loved her animals, she also enjoyed gardening and working in her yard, embroidery, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Carol (Bill) Chasteen of Andover, Terry (Charles) Weddle and Steve (Debbie) Vendely, both of Jefferson; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen in 1970; sister, Helen Sikorski; and brother, Albert Sikorski.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at 4PM at Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004, with Rev. Dr. Michael Meranda, officiating. Calling hours will be from 2PM until the time of service at 4PM. Inurnment will be at Ray Corner Cemetery in Lenox Twp., on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 11AM .

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula.
