Obituary of Robert Michael DiDonato

Robert M. DiDonato ASHTABULA – Robert Michael DiDonato, 81 joined his beloved wife, JoAnn on Thursday, July 12, 2018. The son of Michael F. and Mary E. (Woissol) DiDonato, Bob was born on November 5, 1936 in Ashtabula and graduated from Harbor High School. Bob retired from Nova Chemicals a in 1996 Not one to remain idle, Bob was employed with Gage Furniture for 20 years. On May 9, 1959 Bob married Jo Ann Jeffers and together they celebrated nearly forty-eight years of marriage. They enjoyed their marriage journey and created many memories along the way; those memories warmed Bob's heart. JoAnn was called home on April 25, 2007. Bob was a man of many interests and he shared those interests with JoAnn. They were members of Riverside Yacht Club, rode motorcycles, archery, and talking on their CB radio. Bob had a daily routine of visiting Kevin's Automotive, dining at the Crow's Nest and enjoying a slice of pie at the Little Pie Shop with friends. The most important part of Bob's life was family; he loved his children, doted on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren he was their "Papa". He spoiled them with love and when he met his friends he was always ready to talk about their achievements and share pictures. Bob is survived by his children, Ronald (Kathy) DiDonato of North Kingsville, Stephanie (Randy) Jones of Ashtabula and Laura (Brian) Scott of Summerville, SC; six grandchildren, Ronald, Jr., Vincent and Anthony DiDonato, RaeAnn and Steven Jones, and Devin Scott; nine great-grandchildren, Logan Jones McCracken, Robert jones, Lily DiDonato, Avery Dragon, Stella DiDonato, Ava DiDonato, Harper Jones, Quinn Dragon, and Paisley Scott; brothers, Ronald (Barbara) DiDonato, Raymond(Chris) DiDonato; sister-in-law, Darla DiDonato; brother-in-law, David(Sandy) Jeffers; loving nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn; brother, Richard DiDonato and his parents. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio. Rev. Raymond Thomas will preside. Calling hours will be held from 4PM until time of services at 6PM on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the funeral home.
