Richard D. Stouffer, 79, passed away on July 16, 2018 at the Country Club Retirement Center in Ashtabula. He was born on October 23, 1938 to the late George and Helen (Rohback) Stouffer. He is survived by his brother, George Stouffer Jr.; sister-in-law, Daryl; nephews, David, Todd (Stephanie) and Scott (Sheena) Stouffer; grandnephew, Devin and grandniece, Sophia.
Richard was a 1956 Graduate of Harbor High School. He was also a Graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, graduating with Honors in 1960. After serving as a Personal Psychologist in the Army, he went to work for the Standard Register Company in Dayton, Ohio as the Director of Human Resources. In 1965, Richard moved to Oakland, California and started his career with Bell Laboratories as a Computer Research Analyst. He retired from Pacific Telephone (Bell Laboratories) in 1995
He was a member of Mensa in San Francisco for over 50 years. He was an avid bridge and tennis player and took great pride in owning his own airplane for over 45 years. Richard made annual flights from Oakland to Ashtabula each year to see his family during the holidays.
