Obituary of Booker Taliaferro Lyons
The Life of Booker T. Lyons
On December 24, 1957, Booker Taliaferro Lyons “Terry” was born to his late parents Wash Lyons Sr. and Fannie Emma (Spencer) Lyons in Ashtabula, Ohio.
Booker graduated from Ashtabula High School class of 1976, where he excelled in football, basketball, and track. He was an outstanding athlete, team player, and leader. He had a passion for sports and his favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Cavaliers (Cavs), and he often enjoyed sitting on his front porch with his brothers Jerry and Joey talking about the games.
Booker was a dedicated and very hard-working man. He was employed by TMD Wek North located in Jefferson, Ohio where he had been employed for more than 10 years as a machine operator technician.
Booker affectionately called “Terry” had a funny sense of humor, amazing smile, great personality and humbled spirit. As a devoted and loving son, he showed compassion as he cared for his wonderful mother in her latter days. He enjoyed cooking and watching his favorite TV programs especially old classic movies. His favorite desserts were Banana Pudding made by his sister Harriet, and the German Chocolate cake that his sister Queenie would make for him every year for his birthday, as well as the delicious home cook meals that his brother “Joey” prepared for them daily and on special holidays. Booker was a happy person and fun to be around he would often joke with his sister Theresa who he lovingly called “Sis”. Terry was loved by many and will be sadly missed.
