Obituary of Philip Manuel Enos

Philip Manuel Enos, 79, of Amesbury, MA, died July 17, 2018, in the comforting surroundings of his home and in the loving care of his family. He was a devoted husband of 40 years to JoAnn (Hiehle) Enos.

Born in Ashtabula, OH on August 19, 1938, He was the son of the late Sylvester and Irene (Amzibel) Enos. He graduated from St. John High School in 1957, their first graduating class. He enlisted in the Army then attended Kent State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education, emphasis History, in Secondary Education.

He was employed at Premix, Inc, Marathon Special Products and was a purchasing agent for many years with PerkinElmer, a medical imaging company.

Phil was an avid golfer, fisherman, reader, camper and sportsman. He took great pride in finishing three champion show dogs, one Wire Fox and two Border Terriers and was a beekeeper for many years. Music became a special part of his later years and he enjoyed playing Old Time banjo. In 2015, he played alongside his wife in the New Hampshire Fiddle Ensemble and in the summers they traveled to participate in the Swannanoa Gathering Music Workshops near Asheville, NC. Phil thoroughly enjoyed life. His strong yet gentle nature inspired many.

He will be fondly remembered by his wife JoAnn; son, Vincent Mathew Enos, Hampton Falls, NH; grandson, Matthew Vincent Enos, Beverly, MA; his sister, Patricia Enos, Ashtabula, OH; nieces, Karen (Richard) Perfilio and Maria Enos of Sharpsville, PA; Rae Anne Baruffa, Columbiana, OH; nephews, Sylvester (Buzz) Enos lll, (Sarah), Sharon, PA; Craig (Barb) Enos, Oberlin, OH; David Enos, Farrell, PA; Christopher (Julie) Enos, Sharpsville, PA and numerous great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Marie (Enos) Baruffa and her husband, Ralph Baruffa, of Ashtabula, OH; a brother, Sylvester Enos Jr. and his wife, Mary Jane, of Sharpsville, PA.; two nieces, Mary Jo Baruffa and Cheryl Enos.

Calling hours will be from 10:30-11:30 AM next Monday, August 13, 2018 at the ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula. A Memorial Mass will follow at 12 Noon at Our Lady of Peace Mother of Sorrow Church, 1464 West 6th St. Fr. David Bridling will preside. Burial will be St. Joseph Cemetery with full military honors provided by the American Legion Dewey-Howlett Post #103. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. John School or for Masses at Our Lady of Peace Parish. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
