Ashtabula- William “Jack” Lemmon, died August 5, 2018.

He was born on August 19, 1948 in Kittanning, Pennsylvania the son of John and Twila (Brown) Lemmon. Jack attended Ashtabula High School and after graduation enlisted in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division. He served honorably and was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his valor during the war.

Jack retired in 2008 from the Ashtabula Post Office, after 30 years of service, where he was a letter carrier. While a carrier, he enjoyed passing out dog treats along his routes. After his retirement he volunteered for Disabled American Veterans, and enjoyed driving veterans to their appointments.

When Jack’s children were growing up, the neighborhood kids always hung out at his home, playing basketball and other sports. Jack was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren; he would tell anyone who would listen about them and their accomplishments. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan, and enjoyed rooting for the Browns. Jack loved to spend time at the gym with his buddies and attending Weight Watchers meetings with them.
