Obituary of Lillian V. Nejbauer
Lillian Virginia Nejbauer, 91, of Ashtabula passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 4, 2018 in the Hospice Unit of the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
She was born June 3, 1927 in War Eagle, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Jake and Susie (Hoderfield) Martin.
Lillian was a longtime member of the Pentecostal Church of God where over the years she has volunteered in many areas of the church such as Past President of the ladies auxiliary, Sunday school teacher, youth leader, and funeral committee. She was a prayer warrior and initiated many of the church's prayer chains. She also enjoyed quilting, gardening, baking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Alma (Tal Hamilton) Stevenson, Mary Ann (Scott) Jones, both of Ashtabula, Pamela (Christopher) Cline of North Carolina, Marvin (Debbie) Bowen of N. Kingsville and Jerry (Carol) Mortimer of Ashtabula; sister, Doreen Murphy; son-in-law, Damon Turley; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Lillian was preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis Bowen; second husband, William Nejbauer; sons, James (Chae Wol) Bowen, Anthony, and David Bowen; daughter, Vivian Ilene Turley; brother, Jake "Dick" Martin; sisters, Mattie Dingess and Joan England; son-n-law, Eugene Stevenson; one grandchild; and her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at 6PM at the Pentecostal Church of God, 2221 Cook Rd., Ashtabula with Rev. Kenneth Roberts officiating. Calling hours will be held at the church on Sunday from 4PM until the time of service at 6PM.
Interment will be at Edgewood Cemetery on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 10AM.
Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Pentecostal Church of God, 2221 Cook Rd., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
