Wilma Faye Evans, 76, of Ashtabula passed away peacefully, January 5, 2019 at the Hospice Unit of the Ashtabula County Medical Center. She was born December 12, 1942 in Shinnston, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Burl and Helen (Mercer) Norris. In her earlier years, she enjoyed tearing up the streets in her 62' Impala. Wilma was a feisty woman, who could always be found with her Marlboro cigarette in hand. Wilma worked in a factory, as a cashier, but finished her career as a nurse's aid when she was 47 due to a stroke that has left her paralyzed, for the last 30 years. Wilma was a fighter over those years, still doing what she could up until her final hours. Most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Wilma is survived by her children, Patrick Evans and Annette "Annie" Evans; grandchildren, Ashley Evans, Patrick (Teila) Evans, Jr., Joey Arcaro; great-grandchildren, Chase and Telia. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Frye, and Patricia Norris; and her parents. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 16, 2018 at 12:00 PM (noon) at Greenlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 3140 Center Rd., North Kingsville, Ohio. Calling hours will be held from 11AM until the time of service. Ducro Funeral Services, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula is handling arrangements. Online obituary and condolences at www.ducro.com
