Betty J. Nyman

CONNEAUT – Betty Jane Nyman , 87, beloved wife and mom was called home on Friday, January 11, 2019 while a resident at Lake Pointe Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

The daughter of Jack and Wilma (Gidley) Auger, Betty was born on October 13, 1931 in Lakewood, Ohio. A graduate of Rowe High School, Betty remained in touch with her classmates.

On April 29, 1950 Betty Auger and Waino Nyman were united in marriage. For almost sixty-nine years they grew their family, shared their joys and created a life time of memories.

Betty and Waino belonged to the Finnish Lutheran Church of Conneaut, Our Savior Lutheran Church of Southern Pines, NC and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Conneaut

In her younger years, Betty worked at Pape’s and her father’s many restaurants in Conneaut. After she and Waino were married she was privileged to be a stay-at-home mom. It was her most favorite profession. Loving and supporting her children and grandchildren gave her great joy. Betty also enjoyed playing cards with her friends and sharing the stories of her wonderful children and grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her beloved husband, Waino; her children, Wayne(Tina) Nyman of Roaming Shores, Andrea Kapalin , Daniel Nyman, and John(Sherry) Nyman all of  Conneaut; seven loving grandchildren; and precious great-grandchildren; siblings, Jacqueline Pelton, George (Debbie) Auger and Frank Auger; many nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Auger.

Memorial Services will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 876 Grove Street, Conneaut, Ohio, 44030.  Reverend Patrick Van De Motter, Pastor presiding Private burial has taken place.
