Obituary of Katherine Ruth Parker

CONNEAUT - Katherine Ruth Parker, 71, of Washington Street, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, January 20, 2019.

Born October 18, 1947 in Washington, PA, she was the daughter of Samuel and Alice (Bennett) Boucher. She lived in Lake County for years before moving to Conneaut 25 years ago.

Ruth worked as a waitress for the Mentor Yacht Club and the Radisson Hotel for many years. She loved reading, swimming, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed Johnny Cash, Elvis, and gospel music.

She is survived by her children, Ellen (Steve) Smith of Conneaut, Robert R. (Stephanie) Uncapher of Conneaut, Richard Parker of Ashtabula, and Marsha (Christopher) Cooper of Jefferson; grandchildren, James, Ellen, Brad, Christina, Abigail, Darin, Tiffany, Mason, Jason, June, Jasmine, and Jolene; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Faith, James Jr., Scott, Annabellya, Mark, Dakota, Dalelynn, Isabella, Amelia, Marty, Serenity, Maria, Cilvera, Emmalynn, Mary, and Avery; brothers, Samuel Boucher of Washington, PA, Joel Boucher of West Virginia, and David Boucher of Mentor, OH; and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Dawn Boucher; great-grandson, John Dale Monroe; a sister, Margaret Croyle; and a brother William Boucher.

A calling hour will be held Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 1 PM until the hour of service at 2 PM at the DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula. Bishop Gary Brooks of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will officiate.

Contributions may be made in her name to SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) or Hospice of the Western Reserve.
