Obituary of Judith Marie Baker

ASHTABULA – Judy Marie Baker, 78, of Carpenter Road passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Cleveland Clinic. She was born June 16, 1940 in Ashtabula, the daughter of George and Mary (Succi) Maunus and had been a lifelong area resident. Judy was a 1958 graduate of Harbor High School. Following high school, she proudly served her country in the United States Navy. Judy was like a mother to everyone. She worked many years as a childcare provider in her own home helping to raise numerous children in the community. She enjoyed watching QVC, Food Network and Channel 8 News. She was the matriarch of the family and hosted every holiday function. She was always the "information highway" for all of her family and friends. Her survivors include four daughters, Terri Lakin of St. Cloud, FL and Patricia "Trish" Baker, Andrea (Erich) Dreier, and Jeanne (Bobby) Meaney, all of Ashtabula; grandchildren, James, Sami, Alex, Kendal, Kristi, Tori, Dani and Josh; great granddaughter, Savannah; daughter in law, Kelly Baker of Euclid Heights; sister, Sandra Maunus of Ashtabula; and sister-in-law Carole Hura of Poland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald C. Baker, in 1986 and her son, Ronald R. Baker in 2016. Calling hours will be from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM on Friday, March 1, 2019, at Our Lady of Peace, Mt. Carmel Church, 1200 East 21st Street, Ashtabula. Fr. David Bridling will preside.
