ASHTABULA – Mari-jo Harmony Wilson, 60, much loved sister and aunt passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019.

The daughter of Howard and Paula (Starr) Wilson, Mari-jo was born on September 29, 1958 in Ashtabula and remained a lifetime area resident.

Mari-jo was the poster child for the first levy for Happy Hearts School. She loved Happy Hearts and later transitioned to Ashcraft Industries where she was employed for more than forty years. The friendships that were made with both fellow employees and mentors were invaluable to her. Mari-jo was a resident of the Maples of Conneaut and loved the staff, which she considered family.

Mari-jo bowled for the Special Olympic team, and enjoyed the comradery among her fellow bowlers. She was an avid fan of Horror Movies, they scarier they were the better she liked them. Mari-jo enjoyed going out dinner, as long as it was Mexican and had cheesecake.

Mari-jo is survived by her sister, Michele ”Mickie” Wilson Esposito of North Carolina; her brother, Garth Kelly (Anna Marie Skaro) Wilson of Pennsylvania; nephews and niece, Jared Swiger who is also her guardian, Corey Swiger, Cassandra (Jerrod) Swiger-Clark, and Jeffery Wilson; beloved aunt, Marylyn Tucker;  step-mom, Louise Wilson.

Mari-jo was preceded in death by her mom and step-dad, Paula and David Bennear, dad, Howard; most loved brother-in-law, Samuel Esposito; and uncle, Donald Tucker.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, March 8, 2019 at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio. Deacon, Richard Johnson will officiate

Calling hours will be from 11:00AM until 1:00PM on Friday, March 8, 2019 at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula.

Mari-jo’s family would like to thank the staff of the Maples for the love and care she was given. You were her family and she loved you. They too, are grateful for all the staff and co-workers past and present at Ashcraft Industries. The staffs of Ashtabula County Nursing Home and Hospice of the Western Reserve were instrumental in Mari-jo’s homeward journey. You cared for her as if she was your family and to Mari-jo you were her family.
