Jerry W. Sipan

Jerry Walter Sipan, 70, of North Kingsville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, March 3, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born June 10, 1948 in Cleveland the son of Elmer and Olga (Mann) Sipan. Jerry graduated from Chardon High School in 1966. He married Roberta Thornburg on May 24, 1981.

Jerry was a State Highway Patrolman for 18 years, and Cleveland City Investigator for seven years. He also owned and operated Sip N Suds in Kingsville on Route 193 for seven years and retired from the Lake Erie Correctional facility as a prison supervisor after 13 years of service to the company.

He enjoyed cutting wood, campfires, feeding birds and his dogs, Maggie and Otis. Most of all he enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends.

Mr. Sipan is survived by his wife of 37 years Roberta; daughters, Gina Sipan of Mentor, Emily (Frank) Verdi of Ashtabula, and Abigail (Adam) Moose of North Carolina; sisters, Ellen Timms of Concord, and Julie (Pat) Russo of Brunswick; brothers, Joseph and Daniel (Barb) Sipan, both of Chardon; granddaughter, Sage Verdi; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and grandson Cade Verdi.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 11AM at Lulu Falls Cemetery, Cemetery Rd., Kingsville, Ohio 44048. The family will receive guest at the family home immediatley following at 7249 Regal Dr., Conneaut, Ohio 44030
