Myrna Jean (Wickman) Newsome, 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Jefferson Healthcare.
She was born in Ashtabula, Ohio on September 12, 1947, the daughter of Elmer Wickman and Dorothy Butch.
Myrna was a 1965 Harbor High School graduate. Before retirement, she worked as a press operator at Premix, Inc.
On March 23, 1968, she married the love of her life, Barry Newsome. They had two wonderful children, Tammy and Barry, Jr.
In Myrna's spare time, she enjoyed reading, playing cards, cooking and attending concerts, especially classic rock and roll. She always loved spending time with her friends and family as well as her beloved cats.
Myrna was well loved by all, understanding and was always willing to put others before herself.
Myrna is survived by her two children, Tammy Rubino and Barry (Shannon) Newsome, Jr.; sister, Verna Ward; grandchildren, Andrew (Brianna) Rubino, Alexander and Xavier Newsome; great granddaughter, Andrea; sister-in-laws, Linda Newsome and Kathy Newsome; and mother-in-law, Thelma Carpenter.
She is preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Ashtabula County Animal Protective League in Myrna's name.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
