Richard Arden Powell, 85, of Ashtabula, passed away peacefully March 30, 2019 at UH- Geauga Medical Center.
He was born February 8, 1934 in Ashtabula the son of the late Samuel and Inez (Randall) Powell, and he remained a lifelong area resident. Richard married Sue Ann Stitt in Jefferson in 1974.
Dick was a truck driver for LTL Trucking for 33 years before his retirement in 1989.In his younger years Dick enjoyed hunting and fishing.. He was an avid motorcycle rider and was a member of the Scarlet Rangers Motorcycle Club. He was also a longtime member of the East Ashtabula Club.
Richard is survived by his wife, Sue; daughters, Gail (Jeff) Kent, and Ellen Kingensmith; step-children, Brenda Blenman, Steven (Tanya) Woodworth, Bonnie Woodworth, and Melinda (Danny) Edixon; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A family celebration of Richards's life will be held at the convenience of the family.
