Obituary of Virginia Garnett

 Virginia “Ginny” Garnett, 87, passed away on April 5, 2019.

  

She was born on August 13, 1931 in Columbia Falls, Maine to Howard and Frances (Higgins) Allen.

 

Ginny married Everett Garnett on November 7, 1949 and was preceded in death by him on November 23, 1993.  She was also preceded by her son, Richard Garnett; her daughter, Cynthia Weaver; and her sister, Patricia Smith.

 

She is survived by daughters, Joyce (Tim) Portik of  Warne, NC and Deborah Markley of Cleveland, OH; son, Michael (Karen) Garnett of Ashtabula, OH; brothers, Gene (Joyce) Allen and Roger (Fran) Allen of Maine; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

 

Ginny was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Army/Navy Union Garrison #411, Veterans of Foreign Wars #943, and Fraternal Order of Eagles #1463 where she served in several roles in the Ladies Auxilliary.

 

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Ducro Funeral Services, 4524 Elm Ave. Ashtabula, Ohio at 10:00 AM.  Calling hours will be at the funeral home on Monday, April 8, 2019 from 6:00- 8:00 PM.  Ginny will be cremated following the services and her cremated remains buried at a later date.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
