Obituary of Wanda Gegan Carpenter

ASHTABULA-Wanda Gegan Carpenter, 84, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019 at ACMC.  She was born on July 17, 1934 in Geneva to Elmer “Jack” and Edith M. (Cook) Dodge.

 

Wanda retired from Buckeye Local Schools as the Kitchen Manager at Braden Junior High School.  She was an accomplished seamstress and avid reader who enjoyed crafting, flower gardening, and arranging flowers for the Altar at Second Congregational United Church of Christ in the harbor.  She also enjoyed bowling and other sports.

 

Wanda is survived by son, Johnny (Darlene) Gegan of Ashtabula; granddaughter, Danielle (Gegan) Michalski and great grandson, Jax M. Michalski, of Maryland;  sister, Mildred Tyler of Ashtabula; brother, Elmer “Jack” Dodge of Geneva; and many nieces and nephews

 

She was preceded in death by husbands, Joseph Gegan and Ralph T. Carpenter; brothers, Eugene, Albert, Harold, and Richard Dodge, sisters, Dorothy Johnson, Marjorie Stonsteby, Barbara Glover, and Jean Glover.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held at Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Prospect Street, Ashtabula on Friday, May 3, 2019 from 4:00-6:00 PM.  Leave condolences at ducro.com
