Obituary of Sherdina Collins

Sherdina Collins, a longtime resident of Ashtabula, Ohio died on Tuesday, July 2 after an extended illness.  She was born in Dublin, Georgia to Bessie Tillman who preceded her in death.  Sherdina has two sisters Janet Eason and Jackie Wright.


Sherdina graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Cleveland and then pursued a higher education at Mount Union College earning degrees in Sociology and English.
She worked training executive secretaries at Brush Welman for ten years in Cleveland, Ohio before working her dream job as a Mary Kay Consultant and then a Director for 30 plus years.

Sherdina married the love of her life, Rudy Collins on Thanksgiving Day 1975 which was the happiest day of her life. They loved and cherished each other for over 43 years.  She is survived by her husband Rudy, three children: Felicia Sherman (Timothy), Rudy Collins, Jr. (Tina) and Tameka Bobbit; eight grandchildren: Jasmyn Sherman, Timothy Sherman II, Jordynn Sherman, Kalen Barrows (Cody), Hosea Robinson, Eric Harris, Erin Harris, Eris Harris, and great granddaughter, Aubrianna Hulderman; sisters, Janet Eason and Jacquie Wright and their children, Stephanie Eason, Richard Eason, Troy Randle, and Yvette Williams. She also leaves behind a host of loving family and friends.

Sherdina was a faithful member of Hiawatha Church of God In Christ for over 30 years. She gave herself to Christ at an early age.  Sherdina enjoyed traveling and now she has reached her final destination which is HEAVEN.

Homegoing Services will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Hiawatha Church of God in Christ, 3417 Hiawatha St, Ashtabula, OH 44004. Rev. David Howard, Pastor officiating. Interment will take place at Cleveland Memorial Garden, 4324 Green Road, Highland Hills, Ohio, immediately following the service.
