Obituary of Marjorie L Branscome
Marjorie L. Branscome (nee Shaughnessy), 80, of Ashtabula, passed away Friday, July 5, 2019 at the Ashtabula County Medical Center surrounded by her family.
She was born August 25, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Mark and Louise (Johnson) Shaughnessy. She married George Richard Branscome on February 2, 1957.
Marjorie was a Loving and Dedicated Wife, Mother, Grandmother (Gram), and Great-Grandmother, her Family Meant Everything to Her and She Prayed for Them All Daily, a Devoted Catholic that Believed in the Good of the World and Saw the Best in People, An Enthusiastic & Excellent Baker that Cooked Delicious Dinners with Love, She Loved Shopping, Playing Scratch-Off Tickets, and the Lottery.
Marge liked to be the one taking the photos of her friends and family. Her contagious laughter cradled our hearts often. She guided many upward. An avid letter writer who always remembered her many loved one's birthdays and special events. Her words expressed positivity, kindness and goodwill to all of her many friends and family. Her love was pure and her morals divine.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Jean Branscome of Ashtabula, Tim Branscome of Geneva, and Marc (Julie) Branscome of Ashtabula; son-in-law, John Bracken; brothers, Mark (Lisa) Shaughnessy of Georgia, and Don Shaughnessy of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Joshua (Katee) Bracken, Joseph (Saundra) Bracken, Jessica (Jimmy Goudge) Branscome, Roslyn (Jared) Frain, and Taylor Branscome; seven great-grandchildren, Alliey, Hailey, Mackenzee, Trinity, Connor, Chloe, and Ethan; her close family friend, Karen Bruckman; and Dear lifelong friend, Pat Poulaski; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, and her angelic dog Matlock
She was preceded in death by her husband, George in 2000; daughter, Colleen Bracken in 2018; brothers, Jim and Pat Shaughnessy; daughter-in-law, Elaine Branscome; and her parents.
A mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 11AM at Our Lady of Peace, Mother of Sorrows, 1464 W. 6th St., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 W. Prospect, Ashtabula.
The family would like to thank the staff of ACMC Hospice for the great care they gave to Marjorie in her finals days.
