Obituary of Jon D. Branch

ASHTABULA- Jon (John) D. Branch, died July 1, 2019.

Jon was born February 1, 1937 to Douglas and Luella Branch in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.

The family moved to Jefferson, Ohio in 1947 and he graduated from Jefferson High School in 1955;and served in the United States Army from January 1962 to May of 1966.

Jon was employed with General Tire and Rubber for twenty-eight years until it’s closing in 1985, and then he worked for various other companies.

Jon was an avid lover of sports and a devoted fan of the Indians, Cavaliers, Browns and Ohio State. He loved golfing, fishing, and bowling and was inducted into the Ashtabula County Bowlers Hall of Fame in 2006. Jon loved to get together with family and church friends and enjoyed church coffee hours so he could tell his stories.

Jon is survived by his wife, Peg (Margaret) Branch whom he married January 10, 1976 and daughter, Traci Branch and her husband, Nathan Manning and son, Grant Campany and his wife, Erin Campany, granddaughter, Addison Campany, grandson, Boden Manning and several nieces and nephews, whom he loved.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 3:00PM at Faith Lutheran Church, corner of Lake and Bridge Streets, Ashtabula, Ohio. With a luncheon to follow.

 A calling hour will be observed from 2:00PM until time of service at 3:00PM.
