Obituary of Helen Lucia Fenton
Helen Lucia (Zoszak) Fenton passed away on August 8, 2019. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Stanley and Elizabeth (Nemcsik) Zoszak. They moved to New Lyme, Ohio when Helen was young, where she lived until she married Ray P. Fenton in 1951. A lifelong resident of NE Ohio, Helen raised her children while working full-time.
Cultures throughout time have believed in the notion of witnessing the soul in one’s eyes, and the light that shone in Helen’s eyes always shone especially bright. Those who were blessed enough to have known her would say that she was quick with a joke, yet never at another’s expense. Above all, Helen believed in forgiveness, and accepting people from all walks of life— a true daughter of Christ in talking the talk AND walking the walk.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved brother, Stanley. She is survived by her children: Russell P. (Maria); Randall S. (Elaine); Mary (Jay) Alexander; Michael S.; Laurie A.; George D.;14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. In her lifetime, Helen touched many hearts and lives, and leaves a legacy of love in the community and in her family’s lives.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 W Prospect Road, Ashtabula at 1:00 PM. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 Am until the time of service. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Jefferson. Leave condolences at ducro.com
“Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is absolute and unbroken continuity.
What is this death but a negligible accident?
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just ‘round the corner.
All is well.
Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!”
-Henry Scott-Holland
