Obituary of Michael Patrick Lang

Michael Patrick Lang (Pat), 83, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away on August 22, 2019 in Indianapolis, Indiana surrounded by family.

 

Pat was the son of Mary and Willie Lang, born on February 23, 1936 in Weston, West Virginia.

A veteran, he served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany from roughly 1952-1956.

He also worked as a cook for Conrail in Indianapolis.

 

Pat married the love of his life, Bethel Osborne, in 1958. She preceded him in death in 2001. He was predeceased by siblings: Jack, Bill, Bob, Jackie, Flo Tress and son, Ronnie. Pat is survived by his loving daughter, Delores Mason of Indianapolis, as well as his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister, Judy Whysong.

 

Pat was known for his kind, generous heart and fierce, independent spirit.  He was a wonderful dad, papa and friend, always joking and always joyful. He was very optimistic until the end. Pat enjoyed gardening, cooking, westerns, dancing at blue grass festivals with Bethel and was adored by all who knew him.

 

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 11AM-1:00PM at Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula. Burial to follow in Saybrook Cemetery.

 

Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
