Obituary of Harry William Stevens, Jr.

Mr. Harry William Stevens, Jr., 85 passed away after a long illness, Friday, January 16, 2009 at his home.

Born on October 15, 1923 in Meadville, PA, he was the son of Harry W. Stevens and Helen E. (LeFever) Stevens. Harry had lived in Ashtabula before moving to Toccoa, GA in October of 2008.

He was a member of first Grace Gospel Church and was retired from Union Carbide Metals (Elkem Metals) with thirty-three years of service.

Harry was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Normandy and received the Good Conduct and Bronze Star Victory Medals. He was honorably discharged in November of 1945.

He will be remembered most for his love and devotion to God and his family.

Family members include his  daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Hudson and Gary, Peggy Bobbitt all of Toccoa, GA, Evelyn Smith and Leroy of Arizona, Leslie Bobbitt Fusco of North Carolina, Mary Austin and Kenneth of South Carolina; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Bobbitt and Diane of Toccoa, John Bobbitt and Denise of Arizona and Russell Bobbitt and Kathy of Ashtabula, grandchildren,  Tammy, Matthew and  Robert, Hudson of Toccoa, C.J. and Larkin Bobbitt of Ashtabula, Derek and Jen Bobbitt of Toccoa, Paige Reynolds of Toccoa, Justin and Amber Cannon and Crystal Sparks all of Toccoa,  Diane Jankowski of Cleveland and Josh Atzemis of Ashtabula; nine other grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; his sister, Elaine Baker of Florida.

Harry was preceded in death by his first wife, Loretta Sparks Stevens; his second wife, Dora Mae Bobbitt Stevens in 2014; his sister, Ann Jerome; brother, Eddie Stevens.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Maple Grove Cemetery, Plymouth Township, Ohio.
