ASHTABULA- On Friday, August 30, 2019; Dale Charmene McCombs, 62, went to sleep at home. While sleeping on Saturday, August 31, 2019 she went on to be with her Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven.

Dale known as “Peppi” to her mom was born to the Rev. Donald and Ida (Stinson) Evans, Sr.; Dale was born on September 15, 1956 in Cleveland Ohio.

At the age of twenty three she married the Rev. Michael Edward McCombs, and they were together for almost forty years.

Dale was employed with AMHA for twenty three years as manager of the Section 8 housing. She made many friends during her employment and remained in contact with them after her retirement. Prior to becoming employed with AMHA, Dale home schooled her nieces and nephew.

Dale was an active member of Peoples Missionary Baptist Church. She dedicated her life to serving her Lord by serving her church. She served as choir director for the youth and children’s choir, sang in the adult choir, played piano and composed songs for her choirs.  Dale was a leader of the youth group, was also a Vacation Bible School coordinator for several years and taught Sunday school. She was also an active member of the Good Life Singers.

Dale enjoyed a little retail therapy, watching murder mysteries, Golden Girls and “Soaps”. She and Mike would watch the birds every morning and enjoy the time spent together with each other. Dale was fond of vacations with her family and eagerly looked forward to going. Recently she was asked to be the spokesperson for the Multiple Myeloma Society.

Dale will be remembered as a “Child of God”. She dedicated her life to serving Him and her family. She was a good daughter, sister, wife, mom, and grandma. All through her life and even during her illness; Dale continuously touched lives through her smiles and words of encouragement.

Dale is survived by her husband, Rev. Michael McCombs; children, Lolita and Marcus Hudgins and Michael and Nanea McCombs; grandchildren, Amaya, Isaiah, Jaylen, Liah, Koralynn, and Kira; siblings, Donald Evans, Jr., Vivian and John Hughes, Daphne Workman, Arthur and Susanna Evans; brother-in-law, Arthur McClain; many loving and dedicated nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by her sister, Donna McClain and her parents.

Homegoing Services will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Peoples Missionary Baptist Church, 3837 West Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio. Rev. Dr. German Womack, Pastor will officiate. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, 3140 East Center Street, North Kingsville, Ohio.

Visitation will be observed from 10:00AM until time of service at 12 noon on Saturday, September, 7, 2019 at Peoples Missionary Baptist Church.

Dale’s family is grateful for the care and kindness shown to her by Dr. Varghai and his Staff.
