Walter F. Russell, Jr. "Pete", 68, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at University Hospital in Cleveland.
Pete was born on April 27, 1951 in Ashtabula, Ohio. He was the son of Walter and Doris (McCormick) Russell.
Pete worked for Windstream as a Lineman for over 30 years.
When Pete was not working, he enjoyed attending little league games, yard work and cooking. He will be remembered for the joy that he always brought to his friends and neighbors.
Pete will be deeply missed by his children, Courtney ( Shawn) Hieneman of Columbus, Kurt (Jaime)Russell of Omaha, Nebraska; step-children, Lewis (Shannon) Smith of Cincinnati , Bryan (Nicole) Smith of Ashtabula; sisters, Danielle Eschenauer, Martha Lee and Kristie Lind; grandchildren, Remy, Logan, Parker, Lilly, Bryan, Cooper and Tyler.
He is preceded in death by his wife whom he married in July of 1994, Bobbie Jean Russell; his parents and his beloved dog, "Rocky."
Shall friends desire, memorial contributions can be made in Walter's name to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 6155 Rockside Road Suite 202, Independence, Ohio 44131.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. at ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 West Prospect Ashtabula, Ohio. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 P.M. at St. Joseph Cemetery in Ashtabula.
