Obituary of Dustin K. Humphrey

Dustin K. Humphrey, 26, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 24, 2019.

He was born on March 4, 1993 in Ashtabula, Ohio and was the son of Howard and Tana (Burkhart) Humphrey. Dustin graduated from Edgewood High School and ATECH Class of 2012 and received a bachelor degree in Classic Car Restoration from Ohio Technical College in 2014.   He married the love of his life, Samantha Sousa on August 19, 2016, Dustin was a lifelong resident of the area and most recently resided in Bonnieville, Kentucky.

He was very active in the local and Cleveland heavy metal music scene. Dustin was touring with the band SYKOSIS, where he was the merchandise manager and travel mechanic. He was also instrumental in opening the Sousa auto mechanic Shop with his father-in-law, John.

Dustin loved spending time with his nieces, nephews and godchildren, as well as his dogs. He was also a member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Ashtabula.

Dustin is survived by his wife, Samantha Humphrey; parents, Tana and Howard Humphrey; father-in-law, John Sousa; brother-in-law’s, Cale and Alan Sousa; sister, Diane Eidens and her son, Dextral; best friends, Kyle, Levi and Ben; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hubert and Dorothy Burkhart and Howard and Elizabeth Humphrey; mother-in-law, Diana Sousa; aunt, Diane Gerlach; uncle, Nelson Humphrey; and his beloved service dog, Brute.

Calling hours will be held, Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 5-8 at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, where services will follow at 8PM.
