Obituary of Eric James Rivers

Eric James Rivers "Big E", 34, of Ashtabula passed away unexpectedly at home September 26, 2019.

He was born May 15, 1985 in Ashtabula, son of Darrell Atwood and Ronda (Penniman) Atwood, Eric had remained a lifelong area resident. He attended the Ashtabula Pentecostal Church of Christ.

Eric's pride and joy was his family, he was the calm to any storm, the voice of reason, the first to offer help to anyone, while lighting up any room he walked into. Once you met Eric you would never forget him. One of his favorite things to do was cook big meal's for family dinners. He would sing his heart out while cooking and the kids loved it. This will be something he will always be remembered for and him living up to his nick name of "Big E."

Eric is survived by his parents, Darrell and Ronda Atwood; fiancé, Carey Mae Stotts; daughter, Morgan Kay; step-sons, Tyler and Nick;; brothers, Jason Rivers, Jessy Rivers, Jared Rivers, and Travis Liszewski; sisters, Shawna Rivers, Stephanie Rivers- Ernst; Sheena Rivers, and Tina Liszewski. Eric's life revolved around his granddaughter, Alaina Eve, 12 nieces, and 7 nephews, that he adored.

He is preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Evelyn Benson-Atwood, and grandfather, Ron Penniman.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 5-8PM at Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
