Obituary of Constance Ann Payne

ASHTABULA- Constance Ann ”Connie” Payne, 78, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 due to complications of a stroke.

Connie was the daughter of Earl F. and Marion (Hillman) Miller; she was born on December 16, 1940 in Niagara Falls, New York.

She had been an Ashtabula County resident for approximately forty years since moving from California.

Connie was a corrections officer for the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Department for twenty nine years.

Connie, after her retirement enjoyed her flower gardens. She was an avid reader, a path her great granddaughter Kacie also follows. Connie was a people person enjoyed socializing to say she was a “social butterfly” would be an understatement. If she had not been in a store for a while people would become concerned and ask her daughter, Dawn if she was doing well.  Connie was very involved with her son Danny, and his participation in Special Olympics.

Connie will be remembered as a dedicated employee, a devoted mom to her children, a wonderful grandma, a loving daughter, sister and aunt.

Connie is survived by her children, Dawn and Jeff Camplese  and Danny Payne all of Ashtabula; grandson, David and Nicole Cooper; great-grandchildren, Kacie, Ethan and Connor of Jefferson; sister, Terry and Terry Mate of Massachusetts, sister- in-law, Linda Miller of Ashtabula, loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and great  nephews.

Connie was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Miller and her parents.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio, 44004.

A Calling Hour from 11:00 AM until time of service at 12 Noon on Saturday, November 2, 2019 will be observed at Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio.
