Please share a memory of Judith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Judith Thurber (nee Hansen), 78, of Moreland Hills, Ohio, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Menorah Park Center for Senior Living in Beachwood, Ohio. She was born July 15, 1941, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late George A. Hansen and Virginia (Weidlein Hansen) Brandt.

Judy worked for Developers Diversified Realty Corporation for decades as it evolved into one of the largest commercial development companies in the country. Over the course of her career, she was an Executive Assistant, a Leasing Agent, and ultimately a Senior Paralegal. In her spare time, Judy enjoyed activities and friendships formed through her long association with the Greater Cleveland Young Republican Club. More recently, she delighted in the opportunity to indulge her interest and skill in painting and drawing.

She is survived by her children, Bart (Cheryl LeMaster) Thurber of Lambertville, NJ and Christine (Joseph) Leavitt of Chagrin Falls, OH.  Surviving in addition to her children are her brother George A. Hansen of Orlando, FL and sister Sally Hansen Turner of Maitland, FL; step brother Paul (Mary) Brandt of Chagrin Falls, OH; cousins Margot (Dick) Buchholz of Surprise, AZ and Ginna (Ken) Lagergren of Hailey, ID; niece Jennifer (Jeffrey) Lipshultz of Southlake, TX and nephew Drew Hansen of Myrtle Beach, SC; along with four great nieces Lindsay, Jessica, Olivia and London.

She was preceded in death by her parents George and Virginia; Aunts Margaret Jane (Paul) Miller and Sally Lou (William) Parsons; and cousins Philip and Lucinda Parsons.

A celebration of Judy's life will be held next summer at the family's lakeside cottage. She was laid to rest following a private graveside service at Eastlake Cemetery in North Kingsville, Ohio. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made either to the Kingsville Public Library or the Ashtabula County Animal Protective League.
