AUSTINBURG-It is with profound sadness the Vondrak family wishes to announce the passing of our cherished wife and mother Gail M. Vondrak on November 1, 2019 while being surrounded by love at her home in Austinburg. 

Gail was born on October 20, 1959 to Edmund J. And Shirley M. Lukas (née Valentine) and had one brother Wayne J. all of whom preceded her in death.  

Gail is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 42 years Arthur Vondrak and her three children, Corey Vondrak (Sarah), Melissa Vondrak Cummings (Jason), and Brittany Vondrak (Patrick). She was also the beloved grandmother to Matthew Vondrak, Lukas and Genevieve Cumminings and Mason Vondrak all of which she constantly spoiled rotten every chance she had.

She was known as being a hard worker who gave it her all whether planting flowers at South Ridge Nursery or answering phones at Freds Appliance. She loved to volunteer her time to help others and helped the Red Cross during one of the worst floods in our area and contributed time and labor to the restoration of the Unionville Tavern project.  

Everyone that knew Gail knew she had a “Mama Bear” side to her who would discipline her cubs when needed but don’t you dare get to close or she would definitely let you know about it. She loved nature and was drawn to the mountains where she felt the most peaceful and where she felt she belonged. 

Our family is forever blessed to have been nurtured and loved by this wonderful woman who left us way too soon. 

Please join us for a celebration of her life at St. Bridget of Kildare Parish at 5620 Hauserman Rd. Parma, Ohio on November 9, 2019 at 10:00am.
