Ashtabula- Eleanor M. Kuula, 92, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2019 at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home, after a brief illness. She had been a long time resident of the Ashtabula Harbor, and for the past five years had made her home at the Villa at the Lake.

Eleanor was born on January 14, 1927 in Ashtabula the only child of Arvi and Ellen (Autio) Paananen. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was very active in the church, including serving as a Sunday school teacher and choir member. Eleanor was employed as a buyer for 32 years with the Carlisle-Allen Company.

Mrs. Kuula was the devoted and loving wife of the late John Kuula, whom she married on May 31, 1947.

Funeral services will be held, Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 11AM at the Lighted Cross Lutheran Church, 2310 W. 9th St., Ashtabula, with Rev. Tom Moyer officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Thursday from 10:30AM until time of services at 11AM. She will be buried next to her husband at Edgewood Cemetery.
