James E. Jerina
ASHTABULA- James Edward” Ink Man” Jerina, 63, passed away on the morning of January 1, 2020 at the Ashtabula county Medical Center; after a short battle with cancer.
The son of Kenneth and Lois (O ’Neal) Haney, Jim was born on January 20, 1956 in Lorain, Ohio.
On May 9, 1992, Laura”Sis” Long and Jim were united in marriage. They had been together longer than they could calculate. Their marriage was one of love and devotion, struggles and overcoming adversity. They created many memories along that the way that are now cherished treasures of the heart.
Jim had many interests and hobbies; he was artistically talented and that was shown in his ability as a tattoo artist. There are many folks in the Ashtabula area that have the privilege to wear his tattoos. Jim was a gardener and enjoyed sharing his produce with his family and friends. From his garden he cooked many meals that were spectacular. He liked his food a little on the spicy side and he served his friends and family with a smile and wink about the heat. He enjoyed football and the Cleveland Brown, always waiting for next year. Jim likes to fish and spend time with his dog, Lincoln. Jim’s greatest pleasure came from being with his family. He loved, encouraged and supported his children and grandchildren. A smile from Jim was all you needed to know that you did well.
Jim is survived by his wife, Laura Jerina,; sons, Patrick(Amy) Jerina and James (Kristy) Jerina; grandchildren, Geneva, Alexus, Mikey, Cheyanne, Joshua, Scarlett, Lydia, Sylvia, and Dysin; one great- grandchild, Giddeon; siblings, Sue(Danny) Beltcher, Kenny(Diane) Jerina, Michael(Louise) Jerina and Robbie Jerina; brother-in-law, Michael ”Motor” (Lois) Long.
Jim was preceded in death by his daughters, Crystal and Tracy; brother, Matthew, niece, Ashley; Parents, Ken and Lois; brothers-in-law, Terry and Duane; his in-laws, Barbara and James Taylor.
